Henk van Dalen
At the 24th High Times Cannabis Cup Henk van Dalen was the first recipient of the Dutch Masters Award 2011. This is an award given by High Times to those who have made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the cannabis community.
It was in 1973 that Henk Van Dalen, founder of Dutch Passion, in his own words, put his "first plants in the ground". Fourteen years later in 1987 het started Dutch Passion, one of the first Dutch seed banks in the world. And in 1997 Dutch Passion was the first seed company to introduce feminized seeds to the market.
Nol van Schaik
At the 25th High Times Cannabis Cup Nol Van Schaik received the Dutch Masters Award 2012. This is an award given by High Times to those who have made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the cannabis community.
Nol van Schaik is the founder and owner of the Willie Wortel coffeeshops in Haarlem and he opened the first coffeeshop in Stockport UK in 2001. He is the author of The Duch Experience, which covers 30 years of coffeeshop history.
Wernard Bruining
At the 25th High Times Cannabis Cup Wernard Bruining received the Dutch Masters Award 2012. This is an award given by High Times to those who have made an outstanding lifetime contribution to the cannabis community.
Wernard Bruining opened the first coffeeshop in Amsterdam, Mellow Yellow in 1973. He introduced sinsemilla cultivation in the Netherlands in 1980 and started the first Dutch seeds company, Lowland Seed Co. in 1981. His shop Positronics (1985 - 1997), was the first growshop in Europe.
