The 18th Cannabis Cup was smaller than the years before. Hightimes had requested a certain amount of companies to throw parties, which would entertain the guests. Besides the regular Cannabis Cup Program, there were parties by Sensi Seeds, Self-Hemployed & Ceres Seeds and of Hempworks & THSeeds.

Barneys took the 2005 Cannabis Cup home with 'Willie Nelson'.

'The Return Of The Kind' / 'Freedom' Cannabis Cup. It was an other HECTIC year at the Cannabis Cup. Barney's took home the First Prize for the 'Cannabis Cup', 'Imported Hash', 'Dutch Hash' AND 'Best Booth'.

B.C. Bud Depot won the Indica Cup With their 'God Bud'. And Reeferman Seeds won the Sativa Cup With 'Love Potion #1'

Stephen Gaskin, activist and author of publications like "Cannabis Spirituality" was entered in the Cannabis Counter Culture Hall Of Fame, Supported by his wife who also had a big hand in the organization of this years Cannabis Cup.

Due to the problems of last year the Cannabis Cup was not the best we've seen so far. The Expo was held at the 'Amuse' (Which was under construction). Just a few bothered to present their products because of the high prices and limited space for booths.

'The Conspiracy Cannabis Cup'. Hawaiian Snow from Greenhouse won the Cannabis Cup; White Haze from White Label Seeds won Sativa and the MK-ULTRA from THSeeds took the Indica Cup home.

Jack Herer was inducted in the Hall of Fame during the Cup, which was called 'The Conspiracy Cup' because of Herer's famous conspiracy book, "The Emperor Wears No Clothes."

Unfortunately, due to lack of organisation, for the first time, the event lost money and the tour operator had to be removed because of the losses. The 17th Cup therefor is forced to scale down to one venue, which will be the Milky Way.

2002, the 'Peace' Cannabis Cup.
This years cup had more attendance then it's previous year. Eventhough the cup seemed more chaotic then other years the overall atmosphere was good. Barney's Breakfast Bar won the cup with their 'second edition' Sweet Tooth - Morning Glory! THSeeds took The Indica Cup home for 'The Hog' and Sensi Seeds took the Sativa Cup for their mother's Finest.

Live acts were by 'De La Soul', 'Fun Loving Criminals' & Was Rita Marley there? Bob Dylan and Joan Baez were inducted into the Hall of Fame. The Cannabis Cup event was immortalized by the creation of the first DVD. Unfortunately, the Pax Party House, home of the expo for nine straight years, had to close its doors shortly after the event...

2001, 'The Space Odyssey Cannabis Cup'.
Due to the events of 9/11 the Cannabis Cup was scaled down. Rumours that the Cannabis Cup was to be cancelled also contributed to less attendance and sales then expected. Sweet Tooth from Barney's Breakfast Bar dominated the Cannabis cup this year winning both the popular vote and the blind competition.

Paul Krassner, considered the 'dean of underground journalism' was the first living male to be inducted into the Counter Culture Hall of Fame.

The 13th 'Honor The Goddess' Cannabis Cup featured the theme of 'Honor The Goddess' and many female cannabis celebrities flew in to attend the Cup. Cannabis Cup voting was not for the public this year. 'High Times' ran a competition in which 6 entrants were chosen as the judges. They were left for 3 days on a house boat with supplies of the competing seed strains to test. After 3 days of continuous smoking, the 'Castaways' decided 'Blueberry' from 'The Noon' was the winner. 'Kali Mist' from 'Serious Seeds' and 'Blueberry' from 'Dutch Passion' were the Sativa and Indica Cup winners respectively.

'Ina May Gasking', founder of the modern midwife movement became the first living inductee in the Counter Culture Hall of Fame. Entertainment this year was provided by Canadian comedian 'Watermelon' MC'ing the awards. 'Patti Smith' performed live, 'The Five Points Band' and 'Galatatic' also made an appearance.
