'2005 - 8th HighLife Hemp Fair' On the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of January 2005 it was time for 8th edition of the famous Highlife Hemp Fair to take place. Like previous years, the Cup was held in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. Many vendors, seed banks and coffee shops competed in the battle of best weed, seeds, hash and of course the 'SUPER CUP'.

'2004 - 7th HighLife Hemp Fair' The seventh editie of the Highlife hemp fair, which took place on 30 and 31 January and 1 February in the "Jaarbeurs" in Utrecht, will enter history as busiest ever. More than 13,000 people descended on Dutch largest hemp event. And both holders and visitors were unanimous in their judgement. "it was a fantastic happening!"

'2003 - 6th HighLife Hemp Fair' As for the Highlife Cup winners, announced on Friday the 25th, Sensi Seeds showed just why it considers itself the Emperor of Seeds, winning a near total clean sweep of the prizes.Mothers Finest, an Indica-Sativa cross developed from the same seed line as Jack Herer (and winner of the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2002), from Sensi Growshop, was voted Best Growshop Hydro. Sensi Seeds' won best Bio Seeds with the same new strain, and its Jack Herer walked off with the grand Highlife Cup 2003. Sensi Smile also won big with its Shiva & Shanti. The son of the Sensi empire builder (Ben Dronkers), Alan Dronkers, said he was as amazed as anyone at the successes. "I was shocked and surprised to see us win so much. I was not expecting to win any prizes at all, since our competitors and customers can easily work with the same seed stock as us for their own hybridizations."Jack Herer, launched back in 1994, remains one of the finest Haze hybrids on the market. That it can still cut the mustard against so many newcomers is also the same reason Sensi remains at the top of its game, said Dronkers. "What we have is what no other seed breeder has: a good stock of original, pure, true-breeding strains with which we can develop hybrids. It is this genetic material combined with our huge experience in growing that has allowed Jack - and Sensi Seeds - to remain at the top of the business."

'2002 - 5th HighLife Hemp Fair' which took place on February 5 in the `Melkweg'. This year it was the festival of tycoons of the Dutch cannabis-culture. With as best example the performance of `smuggler' Nol van Schaik. And the cup-winners of Sensi Seeds.Even the suntanned Menno Buch with his camera-crew came to take a look at midnight at the most important Dutch cannabis-event of the year. He did not come for his program `Sex voor de Buch', but for a new show, which will deal with extreme subcultures. Buch was just at the right spot. Because the Dutch cannabis-world has developed to a grown subculture. People, who smoke weed, sell weed, rasta's and German cannabis-journalists. In the `Melkweg' everyone was mingling. Everyone had a good time when the funky bands Seven Eleven, Puwax and Honky Soul were on stage. The cinema of the `Melkweg' was filled with visitors who were laughing their brains out with movies of Cheech and Chong. For the house-adepts there were DJ Monica and -an old familiar face of the Highlife festival- Frankie D., the former DJ of Junkie XL. Main act of the night were Postmen, the most promising Dutch band of last year, winners of the Silver Harp and the Heineken Crossover Award. We had to wait for a long time, but Postmen made it worth while. The hiphop-reggae was a perfect choice for a relaxed festival, such as the Highlife festival.
